Newly opened hotel U Sv. Jana Prague in the original rectory of the Church of The St. John On the Rock near Charles Square opened on the 1st August 2003. It is located 1 minute on foot from the Charles Square, in the walking distance of the historical centre of Prague and 5 minutes from the underground station Karlovo namesti (Charles Square) - line B. The tram stop "Botanicka zahrada" is in front of the building. The Prague Botanical Garden is located 150 metres from the house.

In the year 1691 Kristian Herger built a chapel of St. John Nepomucky on the wineyard "Svatosova" in the vicinity of the Faust house (the old Prague tale of Dr.Faust and Mefistofeles is known as a poem of J.W.Goethe). The baroque Church of St. John Nepomucky was erected on this place in the year 1730 by K.I.Dientzhofer. The building of the hotel At The St. John was built in 1902 as an administrative building of the church in the neobaroque style by architect A.Wiehl and is situated below the Church of St. John On The Rock.
